STOP PRESS.. The 2011 TRAIL LEAGUE results have been finalised and the winners are JENI SMITH for the men's league and LAURENCE LE GUEN  for the women's league.. see the full results elsewhere. A total of 236 men and 81 women earned points in the 2011 league.. well done to all

Twelve trails were included (January to December 2011) and points given to the first 50 runners in each race plus bonus points for each race - each runner counted his best 8 race points at the end of the year (max points 480).

First Trail run in the League 2012

- Saturday 21 January - Trail de Gollum

A new trail in the Black River gorges - a short 9km trail descending from the Parakeet Antenna to the Gorges parking at Black River. And a longer 15 km trail starting in the Black River gorges parking, climbing Parakeet and then descending the Gollum trail back to the parking. A magnificent and technical trail..  See you there!

TRAIL DES CIMES 4^th August 2010
Organised by Rando-Trail & Nature & Yanature !!
This 20 km discovery run from the Gorges Parking, up to Black River Peak (highest point in Mauritius) and then across the five-peak ridge down to La Prairie, across 5 private properties, was done by about 60 runners and walkers. A truely magnificent trail, normally inaccessible, it raised funds for the NGO's Friends in Hope and Friends of the Environment. Thanks to the land-owners!

TRAIN for coming TRAILS!

21 January is the first race for the 2012 programme, but you can jog, walk and run in many places in Mauritius, in the company of others.  RDV in the Black River Gorges parking at 7 am most Saturday mornings.
It is good fun jogging with others, you will find someone of your own level and you can discover a variety of trails in the Gorges. There are more than 100 km of trails, with water always in the rivers which is clear and clean. Always carry a mobile phone (beware as only Orange has a connection) and let someone know which route you plan to take, in case of difficulties.  SEE U THERE!!

JOIN RANDO-TRAIL & NATURE

Easy. Click on the "Join Rando-Trail and become a Member" link on the home page of the site (see top right). This will open a page which will show the membership form. Click on this form. When the document opens, you can print it out. Fill the form in by hand, and send it with your payment, to the Secretary. You will receive a letter of acknowledgement by return, and you will then benefit from membership. We will soon facilitate internet banking possibilities - phone the Secretary if you wish to pay by internet.
