Get ready for the Trail du Chemin Francais - 4th Edition! 

Embark on a journey through history and nature!

Join us for this iconic race along one of the oldest routes in Mauritius, winding through the island’s stunning south-east landscapes. Rugged mountains, dense forests, sweeping savannahs and local wildlife - an unforgettable experience for all levels awaits.

Whether you're a seasoned trail runner or stepping onto the track for the first time, this event is all about challenge, camaraderie and discovery.

Choose from three race options:

5 km Fun Run / 10 km Short trail / 19 km Long trail

Starting times: 5 km 8:45 I   10 km 8:00  I   19 km - 07:00   

Prize giving ceremony: 10:15 - 10:45

Youngsters under 11 years should be accompanied by adult.

 

Participants under 11 years old must be accompanied by an adult. 

There is no timing system, and NO COMPETITIVE medals will be given for age categories.

An easy circuit for youngsters and their parents or grandparents. A relatively flat route, but remember it is a TRAIL and that means some unstable surfaces - so take care.

A fast-paced first section leading towards the Rivière des Créoles hunting grounds… Then, heading up to the highest point at over 400 metres in altitude, Chapeau Fer Blanc offers a unique 360-degree panoramic view over the entire South-East coast. From there, the route descends into the bed of the Rivière des Créoles, where a hidden canyon awaits, before finishing in the courtyard of the old factory.

Long Trail (19km)

Make sure you are properly prepared and can cope with a challenging run on diverse tracks. A challenging circuit for trailers & cross athletes. 

The first section winds between riverbanks and sugarcane fields, crossing several bridges built by the first French settlers in the 18th century… The route then heads up along the ridges separating the valleys of Riche en Eau and Le Vallon, overlooking the entire Mahébourg lagoon, before joining the Rivière des Créoles trail network and reaching the highest point of the course at over 400 metres above sea level.

From Chapeau Fer Blanc, runners are rewarded with a unique 360-degree panoramic view of the entire South-East coastline.

The adventure then continues down into the bed of the Rivière des Créoles, where a hidden canyon awaits, before finishing in the courtyard of the old factory.

Start at the bureaux Groupe Beau Vallon and into tracks and trails, returning to savanna, to finish back at the start.
